Keystone Battery Holder & Contact Cross-Reference

Keystone part numbers are the reference engineers usually start from. This table maps 19 Keystone battery holders and battery contacts to the Jiatel equivalent we manufacture, so you can go from a competitor part number to a drawing, a footprint, and a quotation without a round of email tag.

Every row links to the Jiatel product page that carries the same footprint family. Where the Keystone number is obsolete or hard to source, the Jiatel part is usually available on a shorter lead time — ask for the current schedule rather than relying on a catalogue date.

How to read this table

  • Start from the Keystone number if your BOM already lists one. The Jiatel page carries the 2D footprint, the contact material and the plating options for that envelope.
  • Start from the cell if you are still choosing. CR2032 and CR2450 retainers are through-hole or SMT depending on the row; AA and AAA contacts are classified by contact style, not by cell chemistry.
  • Popularity is a tie-breaker, not a recommendation. A part with deep distributor stock is usually a part many designs already use — useful when you want a second source that will not go obsolete overnight.

What “compatible” covers — and what it does not

We claim footprint and envelope compatibility: the seating plane, the pad or hole pattern, the retainer opening and the overall height match the Keystone reference closely enough to drop into an existing PCB layout.

We do not claim spring-force equivalence, plating equivalence or cycle-life equivalence from a part number alone. Those depend on the contact alloy, the spring temper and the plating thickness you specify. If your design is sensitive to insertion force or contact resistance, send the target values and we will quote to them — that is a different conversation from a cross-reference.

Get the drawing before you commit a layout

We do not publish 3D models for download. Send us the Keystone number, or your existing housing file, and we will return the 2D footprint drawing and a DFM note on clearances and solder-pad geometry.

Frequently asked

Are these drop-in replacements for the Keystone part?

For the PCB footprint, in most cases yes. For spring force, plating and cycle life, no blanket claim is made. Tell us the force window your design needs and we will confirm against the drawing.

Can you quote a part that is not in this table?

Yes. Send the Keystone number, a photo or a drawing. If it is a stamped or machined contact we can usually quote from the sample geometry.

Do you supply 3D STEP models?

No. We provide 2D footprint drawings. 3D models are shared only under an NDA for programmes already in tooling.

What are the MOQ and lead time?

Both depend on the part, the plating and your annual volume, so we quote them rather than publish a blanket number that would be wrong for half the table.

Which Keystone part is closest to an AA or AAA spring contact?

Use the Mount / contact column: slide-in negative and positive contacts (5201, 5202, 5219, 5220, 5221, 5222) cover the common AA/AAA spring geometries; 56 and 57 are the SMT clips.
